Safe analgesics without addictive properties:
The efficacy of SA as an analgesic has been demonstrated in animal studies (Guida et al., 2012).

R. Hanes (Hanes, 2001, 2003), in Australia, presented a case report of a 26-
year-old woman with a long treatment-resistant depression who showed
improvement after taking sub-psychoactive oral doses of S. divinorum leaves.

The Cannabinoid BCP beta Caryophyllene is an attractive compound for chronic pain (both inflammatory and neurogenic) due to its direct action on CB2R (Cannabinoid 2 Receptor) without creating a tolerance, as demonstrated in an animal model of neuropathic pain

This is significant considering drug tolerance after prolonged use is observed with other analgesic therapies and may require increased dosage, which may accelerate tolerance and further reduce the effects of a therapeutic substance.
